In the Canadian Rockies, Indigenous hiking and climbing guides are reclaiming their rightful place in the wild spaces they’ve always called home.

Note: In July 2024, a wildfire broke out in Alberta, Canada, ravaging an estimated 123 square miles in the town of Jasper and Jasper National Park, with many residents forced to evacuate their homes. At time of writing, there’s no timeline for the return of visitors to Jasper as local officials and residents work to bring back essential services. Our thoughts are with the people of Jasper.
