Adventure.com is 100% funded by (but editorially independent of) Intrepid, the world’s largest travel B Corp.

If you’re unfamiliar with B Corp, it’s basically a rigorous certification reserved for organizations that have proven themselves to be taking their commitment to people and planet seriously. Intrepid is one of the only travel companies in the world with science-based emissions targets.

All stories published on Adventure.com have a carbon footprint of their own, related to travel, food, accommodation and other activities a writer or photographer has to undertake in order to research and write a story. Where possible, we strive to reduce emissions of our published stories by commissioning writers and photographers who are already in (or who have already been to) a destination.

We established our Contributor Impact Guidelines to make it easier for all contributors—and readers—to minimize their negative impacts while maximizing the positive. In the guidelines, we encourage contributors to take actions such as minimizing flying and opting for public/human-powered transport (when it is safe to do so). Any emissions we can’t remove completely are offset through Intrepid’s offsetting scheme and are generated from activities that prevent, reduce or remove greenhouse gas emissions from being released into the atmosphere.

Adventure.com banks with Bank Australia, a B Corp, customer-owned bank in Australia that has announced a Net Zero 2035 commitment—the most ambitious net zero target of any bank in the world—and our default superannuation fund is FutureSuper, Australia’s fossil-fuel-free and 100% transparent super fund. We are a signatory of the Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism.

We acknowledge that we still have plenty of work to do, and we welcome feedback and suggestions from our readers. You can contact us any time at hello@adventure.com (please allow up to a week for a response).
