Consequently, Selar expeditions will have no fixed itineraries. Instead, they will be themed, but with a flexibility to react to the whims of the natural environment. “Of course they will be planned,” says Galvagnon. “Because not planning and going into the unknown is just foolish and very dangerous—but if, for example, we see a polar bear, then we will adapt.”
The first expedition, ‘Dancing with Orcas’, will set sail from Tromsö, northern Norway in November 2026. “This will be one of our signature expeditions,” says Galvagnon. “During the dark season, you can see quite well because of the snow and the northern lights. It’s also the only time of year, and the only area of the world, where you can snorkel with orcas.” Wildlife encounters are accompanied by experts, with minimum distances maintained, as dictated by the Norwegian government.
